The Irish National Heritage park is located at Ferrcarrig Wexford, Built on former marsh land the areas covering some 30 acres has been transformed into an idyllic park setting in which Irelands early past can be explored.
This outdoor museum overlooking the Slaney, consists of reproductions of sites and buildings depicting man's first settlements in Ireland.
Spanning almost 9,000 years of Irish history and heritage. It includes full-size replicas of a mesolithic site, a dolmen, cist burial, ogham stone, early Christian site, crannog and Viking boathouse. There is also a replica of a Norman motte and bailey and a nature trail. A Round Tower was built on the site in 1857 in memory of those who died in the Crimean War.
During your visit you can have the opportunity to:
  • Sit on a 6,000 year old bed
  • Cook in a 1,000 year old kitchen
  • Smell the corn ground by one of the world's first automatic machines
  • Be a captain on a Viking ship
  • Solve the mystery of the stone circle
