Upper & Lower Lough Erne

Lough Erne is situated in Ireland's lake district Co. Fermanagh the Lough is geographically divided into two, Lower Lough Erne which is north of the county town of Enniskillen and Upper Lough Erne which is south of the town. The town itself is built on an island at a narrowing of the Lough.

Lower Lough Earn contains a number of holy islands including Devenish Island which is home to one of the finest monastic sites in Northern Ireland.

The small village of Belleek world famous for its fine pottery made from a special porcelain and taking its name from the village, can be found at the northern most point of Upper Lough Erne.
